A Saudi-led UN donor summit to raise money for war-torn Yemen has raised about half of the required $2 billion. Saad Bin Mohammed Al-Arifi, Saudi ambassador to the EU, defended the fund-raising effort which comes while the country is still at war with Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi group. The ambassador also responded to calls from the wife of slain Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi for "a neutral and independent trial" into his death.
