Iran has little interest in “launching a direct attack against Israel or face the wrath of the United States” in the event of a wider conflict in the Middle East, FRANCE 24 International Affairs Editor Philip Turle said in an analysis. Following the death of Hezbollah leader Nasrallah, Israel is more likely to “boost funding for its proxies in the region” including the Houthis in Yemen and other groups in Iraq and Syria to seek retaliation against Israel without getting directly involved, Turle said.
