Food is the third most basic human need after air and water. But according to the United Nations, up to 700 million people are going hungry around the world. Conflicts in Gaza, Sudan and Yemen have created humanitarian catastrophes, whereas a shortfall in funding is making it harder for developing countries to fight food insecurity. On World Food Day, France 24's Sharon Gaffney spoke to Rebecca Vetharaniam Richards from the World Food Programme. She said the flow of aid must pick up again.
